Snore-No-More DIY Diffuser Blend

If you’re like me, you have a snorer in your bedroom. It may even be you! Most people snore now and again – whether it be due to illness or allergies, or due to the time of year – but chronic snoring can be a problem for many people. It can also be a problem for the person sleeping next to the snorer, which is why I am sharing my DIY diffuser blend to help snoring and congestion.

To help reduce snoring at night, I use the following blend of essential oils in my diffuser: marjoram, eucalyptus globulus, and lime.

Marjoram (2-3 drops)
“Marjoram has a woody, spicy aroma that has a warm, calming effect” (Young Living Canada). Marjoram is one of the main essential oils that will come up if you Google “essential oils for snoring.” Because of the strong aroma, it is great for clearing the sinuses and opening up your airway, which in turn, reduces snoring.

Eucalyptus Globulus (2-3 drops)
“Eucalyptus Globulus has an earthy, fresh aroma” (Young Living Canada).  Eucalyptus has decongestant properties – just think Vicks Vapour Rub without all the chemicals! Similar to marjoram, it opens up the nose and sinuses for better breathing and also helps with clearing mucus.

Lime (1-2 drops)
“Lime is sought after for its invigorating and energizing citrus aroma” (Young Living Canada). Citrus, such as lemon, lime and orange, are all associated with colds and illness because of their healing properties. While any citrus oil could be used in this blend, I find the lime compliments the other scents nicely.

You can add a few drops to your diffuser or combine with a carrier oil in a roller and apply to the bottoms of your feet before going to bed.

There are many causes and factors that make a person more susceptible to snoring. Check out this article from the Mayo Clinic for more information on why you or your partner is snoring.
It is important to get snoring checked out by a doctor, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms that could indicate possible sleep apnea.

What home and herbal remedies have you tried to reduce snoring? I’d love to know in the comments below!

Much love & namaste.
